recipe: vegan pancakes (that don't need egg replacer)
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup unbleached white flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup soymily
- 2 tbsp vegatable oil
- 2 tbsp liquid sweetener

abortive bike adventure

[after a 15 mile bike ride to the northernmost border of franklin county in search of a swimming spot
me: are you sure that there's a designated swimming area here?
brian: yeah, it's just past that bridge.
me: have you been here before?
brian: yeah.
[we ride past the bridge. there's no swiming area, just a bunch of duck crap and a fairly picturesque resevoir with the occasional boat slicing through the water.]
me: are you sure that you didn't go to alum creek before?
brian: umm, yeah maybe
me: ... over by polaris? ...
brian: oh yeah!
[we decide to swim anyway. on the way back home, will gets an irreperable flat and we have to get jimmy to come rescure us (this requires not only the prospect of cake donuts, but also an olive branch or two in the ongoing won gai versus number one holy war.]
after the ride we hung out on the porch, talked with travelers and grill peppers and dumpstered portabello mushrooms. when i got home late, i ran into erin dean who had just flown in from redmond. that was cool. should make the house more exciting.
