I noticed that when I blog, that there are words that I type frequently that I would like to show up as links for my readers, but I'm always too lazy to type in the urls. So, I threw together some javascript to parse paragraphs in an html document and create hyperlinks for certain words that appear in the text.
Download the javascript files and copy them to your webserver (links below). Modify link_words.js to create the word to url mappings that you want.
Add the following to the head of your html document:
<script type="text/javascript" src="link_words.js" />
<script type="text/javascript" src="linkit.js" />
And modify the definition of the body of your html document to include onload="createLinks();" as follows:
<body onload="createLinks();">
In the paragraph below, the words "Geoff" and "terrorware" get turned into links by javascript!
This page belongs to Geoff and is hosted on the terrorware server.
